Lou Diamond Phillips (born February 17, 1962 on the United States Naval Base Subic Bay , Philippines ; actually Louis Upchurch ) is an American actor , director , screenwriter and film producer . He sometimes appeared under the name Lou Diamond .

life and career

Lou Diamond Phillips has appeared in film and television productions since the late 1970s. Because of his ethnicity - he has Filipino, Hawaiian , Japanese , Spanish, and Native American ancestry - he often plays Mexican or Indian.

Phillips received several awards as an actor; among other things a nomination for a Golden Globe (1989, for Stand and Deliver ).

In 1996 he played the role of the king in a new production of the musical The King and I on Broadway .

In addition to numerous films, he occasionally appeared in a recurring supporting role in the television series Numbers - The Logic of Crime . He played the agent and sniper Ian Edgerton there .

In 2009 he took 1st place ahead of Torrie Wilson in I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, the American version of I'm a Star - Get Me Out of Here .

He played the role of Colonel Telford in Stargate Universe (2009-2011). Between 2012 and 2017 he starred in Longmire for six seasons as Cheyenne named Henry Standing Bear.

1986 to 1990 he was married to Julie Cypher . He has three daughters from another marriage to Kelly Phillips. Now he is married to make-up artist Yvonne Marie Boismier, with whom he has a daughter.

In the popular video Radioactive by the American band Imagine Dragons from 2012, he can be seen in a prominent guest role as a betting baron. The video on YouTube has had over a billion views so far.
