action

Psychiatrist Grace Mitchell finds the body of a hanged man in the living room of her home. Detective Nick Roos leads the investigation. The case reminds him of a serial killer who was active a long time ago and who ended up committing suicide.

It turns out that Mitchell ordered a PC version of the game Hangman , in which Roos suspects a connection to the murder. He looks for enemies of the doctor in their vicinity. Among other things, he learns that as a clinician she had an affair with a patient who later committed suicide. Then she quit her job.

Mitchell is billeted in a hotel where she is guarded. Paul Jarvis rents a room next to hers and fakes sex, which is what Mitchell is listening to. Then he forces the woman to play a game of hangman on the PC. You and the police watch through a webcam as the person whose life is being played for is hanged. Jarvis is arrested but released after another murder.

It turns out that Mitchell and Jarvis are accomplices. Jarvis kills Natalie Walsh, Mitchell's stepfather's second wife. Mitchell kills her stepfather, whom she finds guilty for the death of her lover. Then she shoots Jarvis, whose body the police find a little later. The case is being closed.

In the final scene, Roos visits the psychiatrist and says that he knows she is guilty. She replies that he lacks the evidence and expels him from her property.

Reviews

Janet Branagan wrote in the Apollo Movie Guide that the film was a well-executed low-budget thriller. It offers numerous twists and turns, but its ending is disappointing and does not match the rest of the film. Branagan praised the portrayal of Lou Diamond Phillips; The girl Amick is acting in a typical role of a scientist.

The film service wrote that the film was a "convincing thriller with a coherent atmosphere and good actors" that would "make it stand out above the majority of video publications". He does not stylize the perpetrator as a superman, but reveals his material motivation. Additional qualities would give the thriller "camera, editing and music [...]".

backgrounds

The film was shot in Toronto and in Uxbridge ( Ontario turned). It was first released on video in some countries like Argentina and Germany .
