Dan Lauria (born April 12, 1947 in Brooklyn , New York City , USA ) is an American actor . In the German-speaking world, he is primarily known for his role as Jack Arnold in the television series Wonderful Years .

Life

Lauria graduated from the University of Connecticut with a master's degree before starting his acting career and was a teacher at the high school he also attended as a student.

He took part in the Vietnam War and is now a member of the National Veterans Foundation in the USA.

Since the late 1960s, Lauria appeared in film and television productions. He became internationally known as Jack Arnold in the television series Wonderful Years , which he played in over 100 episodes from 1988 to 1993. Lauria also appeared in films such as Independence Day , From the Earth to the Moon and Big Mama's House 2 .

At the same time, Lauria was repeatedly seen at the theater. In October 2010, the play Lombardi premiered on Broadway , in which Lauria played the American football coach Vince Lombardi in a leading role .
