Daniela Ziegler (born September 5, 1948 in Offenbach am Main ) is a German actress , musical actress and singer .

Life

After training as an actor at the drama school in Bochum , she had engagements in Trier , at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen , at the State Theater in Hanover and at the Hamburg theater . After six years of professional experience, she trained in musicals for a few months in New York City .

She has been working as a freelancer since 1979 and has had various engagements in Vienna , Frankfurt am Main , Basel , Zurich , Hamburg and Berlin . In 2004, she had one of her greatest theater successes as Maria Callas in Master Class by Terrence McNally at the Ernst-German Theater in Hamburg. The performance later moved to the Renaissance Theater Berlin . At the Ernst-Deutsch-Theater she was also a guest at the German-language premiere of Joan Didion's The Year of Magical Thinking in 2009 (both directed by Boris von Poser ).

She also became known to the television audience through her main episode roles in Ein Fall für Zwei and several Tatort episodes. She also played leading roles in the series The Dear Relatives , Dr. Schwarz and Dr. Martin , Against the Wind , our teacher, Doctor Specht , not least in Der Fürst und das Mädchen . In 2004 she made a guest appearance in Cyril Tuschi's film debut SommerHundeSöhne . In 2012 she played one of the leading roles in the film Lullaby (director: Selcuk Cara ), which premiered in 2012 under its international title Lullaby in the Student Etudes Panorama section at the Plus Camerimage film festival in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and in 2014 in the official selections of Delhi International Film Festival in New Delhi, India, and in 2015 the Franco-German short film festival Les Petits Claps in Metz, France. Since 2012 she has played the mother of controller Ortmann in the ZDF early evening series Die Rosenheim-Cops at irregular intervals .

As a singer she became known for her appearances at the Hamburg Evita performance. She also celebrated success as Norma Desmond in the Niedernhausen performance of the musical Sunset Boulevard . She has made guest appearances in various German cities with chanson programs for Kurt Weill and Ralph Benatzky .

From December 2010 to May 2011 she played the leading role of Mother Superior in the musical Sister Act in Hamburg. As part of her commitment to Sister Act , Ziegler had a guest appearance on April 18, 2011 in the soap opera Hand on Heart . From September 2012 to the end of April 2013 Daniela Ziegler played the leading role of the imperial mother Sophie von Habsburg-Lothringen in the musical Elisabeth at the Raimund Theater in Vienna. From November 2018 to April 2019 Daniela Ziegler played the Tsar's mother in the musical Anastasia in Stuttgart.
