Marriage with Obstacles is a German TV film from 2018 by Anna-Katharina Maier with Nicolette Krebitz , Hary Prinz and Michael Steinocher in the leading roles. The film comedy was first broadcast on June 13, 2018 on ARD . It is the continuation of Family with Barriers (2017). The film continued in 2020 with parents with obstacles .

The two teacher colleagues Katrin, mother of Saskia and Leo, and Philipp have failed marriages behind them and live together as a blended family . The relationship is actually harmonious, but in the hectic everyday life there is hardly any time for togetherness. While Katrin only longs for peace, Philipp surprises her with a marriage proposal during a bogus teachers' conference. To his disappointment, Katrin refuses this, she is of the opinion that they can continue to live together happily even without a marriage certificate. She has not yet come to terms with her last marriage to Frank, who gave birth to two more children with his new one, the younger Julia. Romantic Philipp, on the other hand, is obsessed with the idea of ​​a romantic wedding and is looking for ways to convince Katrin of it. In Renate, his future mother-in-law, who shows up at the two of them in Leipzig without warning , he finds a supporter for his project.

Meanwhile, Julia unexpectedly moves in with her small children with Katrin and Philipp. Katrin's father Horst is also suddenly at the door with his new one. Katrin is annoyed and stressed. She only finds relaxation with Julia's stepbrother Marcel, who is passing through on his way to India. Katrin is impressed with his independent lifestyle. Philipp, who is jealous of Marcel, is planning a spontaneous surprise wedding with Renate. Katrin has had enough. The shooting took place from January 9th to February 5th 2018, the shooting took place in Leipzig . The film was produced by the German Ariane Krampe Filmproduktion GmbH , with the participation of Mitteldeutsche and Österreichischer Rundfunk . Gina Krauss was responsible for the costume design, Andreas C. Schmid for the production, Martin Witte for the sound and Kathleen Asmuss, Nicole Skaletz and Oliver Ziem-Schwerdt for the make-up.
