Michael Owen Rosenbaum (born July 11, 1972 in Oceanside , New York ) is an American actor and voice actor .

Life

Rosenbaum became known through the television series Smallville , in which he played the role of Lex Luthor from 2001 to 2008 . He played again in the 2011 series finale. He had previously been an actor since 1997.

Rosenbaum discovered acting in high school and began studying communication and theater studies at Western Kentucky University . During the semester break he worked on theater productions. After graduating, he moved to New York , where he appeared in plays and small independent film productions.

In 2007 he made his directorial debut and directed an episode of Smallville . In 2014 he made his first feature film, Back in the Day . He also wrote the script for this and also took on a leading role.

Rosenbaum lives in Los Angeles .
