Cursed is a horror film by Wes Craven from the year 2005 , of the myth of the werewolf's picks.

action

While Ellie and her brother Jimmy are driving home in their car, they are involved in an accident. When they try to help the driver of the other car, a werewolf appears who tears the woman to pieces and also injures the siblings.

Some time after the attack, the siblings find that changes are happening inside them. Ellie's senses sharpen and Jimmy wakes up one morning naked in the flowerbed. The werewolf who bit her meanwhile leaves a bloody trail through the city center. The siblings realize that they are slowly turning into werewolves. While Ellie does not want to admit the changes that are going on in her and desperately fights against it, Jimmy uses his newfound powers to impress his crush Brooke and defeat his rival Bo in a wrestling match.

The siblings finally realize that they have to stop their progressive transformation and that to do this it is necessary to kill the werewolf who attacked them.

Soon it seems as if Ellie's hated colleague Joanie is that werewolf. In the newly opened nightclub of Ellie's friend Jake it comes to life and death, but the siblings manage to kill the transformed Joanie with the help of the storming police. But even after Joanie's death, Ellie and Jimmy's transformation continues.

Eventually they both find out that Ellie's friend Jake is the werewolf who transformed Joanie at the time and is therefore also the originator of Ellie and Jimmy's transformation. Just before the siblings finally turn into werewolves, they manage to kill Jake.

The transformation is halted and the siblings are able to go on living normally. Jimmy manages to win Brooke's heart, and in the end he also becomes a deep friendship with his rival Bo, who almost was killed by the transformed Joanie, but has recognized his homosexuality in the course of events .

criticism

"The movie isn't so bad that you curse it, but you have to laugh when you're supposed to scream and you roll your eyes when you're supposed to laugh."

“The revival of the classic horror material strings together set pieces of the werewolf myth, but does not allow any of the implied subtexts of the material to unfold. Conventional genre cinema, which at best is characterized by routine. "
