Sandy and his dog Whiskey (in other languages also Wolfsblut ) defend themselves with the help of the hard- drinking dollar from the city tyrant Barney Taft , who not only wants to take away the Godschür claim , but also kidnaps Sandie's son and Sandie envies the mail order bride Connie . She is raped by Taft's men and becomes pregnant, but still helps Shaw, who treats her with disdain, and in this way makes him love her.
