Alfonso Brescia

Alfonso Brescia (born January 6, 1930 in Rome , † June 6, 2001 ibid) was an Italian director and screenwriter .

Life

Brescia, son of producer Edoardo Brescia , first worked as a screenwriter and co-director since 1956 and was a permanent member of Mario Caiano's staff . In the mid-1960s he switched to the director's chair. He devoted himself entirely to commercial cinema. After initially making several sandal films, he worked in every genre in the later years, often for spaghetti westerns and war films . His low-budget science fiction films from 1977 to 1979, all of them in the wake of Star Wars , achieved particular fame among exploitation fans . In the 1980s he switched to melodramas around the city of Naples before ending his career with less exciting action films . In some films he used the pseudonyms Al Bradley , Al Bradly or Albert B. Leonard .
