action

In Houstonville, Texas, some land-owning farmers have been subjected to humiliation by cowboys hired by the local bank shareholders (mostly ranchers) in an attempt to prevent these people from taking out mortgages. The district judge decides to have the case investigated by an officer. Soon two people arrive in the village: the killer Morgan Pitt, who is called "Mule", and the district attorney Harrison, who is known for his rigorous actions according to a newspaper report. The criminal group of residents is then in distress because they are responsible for the lynching of settler Ryan, who killed two people belonging to the gang, and they hire Pitt to prevent the lawyer from investigating. However, lawyer Harrison and Pitt, who is actually a Federal Marshal, manage to resolve the case and expose the sinister gang against all odds and difficulties.

criticism

Segnalazioni Cinematografiche praised the film's efforts to "appeal to human reason with dignity."

The lexicon of international films saw a “technically neat spaghetti western , who, however, never tries to be original.” Christian Keßler sees it similarly : “Brescia's last western tells a reasonably entertaining one, but in this form it does quite a common story. "
