Iron Warrior is an Italian barbarian film produced in 1987 from the genre of fantasy films . With the heroic figure Ator, the film ties in with the films Ator - Lord of Fire (1983) and Ator II - The Invincible (1984), to which, however, there is no connection in terms of content. The film did not come into German cinemas and was released on VHS on November 24, 1987 .
action
The sinister witch Phaedra has conquered a kingdom out of greed with the help of her magical abilities and is banished to the dark land for 18 years by an assembly of magicians chaired by the sorceress Deeva as punishment for this crime . A new king is installed in the kingdom, with his daughter Princess Janna as heir to the throne , who is to be protected by the warriors Ator and Tragor. However, Tragor is dragged off into exile by Phaedra.
Eighteen years later, Phaedra returns from exile and, together with her henchman Tragor, attacks the king's court society, all but the now adult Princess Janna being killed, she herself is taken prisoner. The warrior Ator, after he was able to escape Phaedra's cunning with the help of Deeva, can free them from captivity using his martial arts and together they try to defeat Phaedra and regain the kingdom.
Reviews
"Witches' ghost, horror and delusions serve as elements of this stupid fantasy story, which remains largely incomprehensible and primarily spreads boredom."
background
- The producer Ovidio G. Assonitis oversaw the direction, but the scriptwriter Brescia drew for it. The film was not released in Italy, where it was produced.
