Gideon "Gidi" Raff (also Raff Gideon , * 1973 in Jerusalem ) is an Israeli screenwriter , director and film producer . His series Hatufim - In the Hand des Feindes , which he started in 2010, won several prizes and gained widespread notoriety , especially through the adaptation Homeland .

Life

Raff's father was a director at Bank Leumi . He lived in the United States between the ages of two and six . After his military service in the IDF , he earned a degree in film at the University of Tel Aviv . During the dot-com bubble , he was content manager for a start-up and wrote a column about it for Maariw newspaper . This was published in the book " Diary of a Start-Upper On The Way To Mecca ". He later earned a Masters of Arts in film from the University of San Francisco . Raff lives with his partner in Los Angeles . In 2012 he was part of a campaign Petas against the use of live animals for training for operations by doctors in the US military .

Raff has been an executive producer on the Homeland series since 2011 . He developed the original with Hatufim - In der Hand des Feindes and was also active as a director for this. In 2003 he made his directorial debut with the short film The Babysitter . The 2007 release of The Killing Floor was his feature film debut.
