Maariw (newspaper)
Maariw or Ma'ariv ( Hebrew מַעֲרִיב Maʿarīv , German for ' bringing the evening' , d. H. Abendzeitung ) is one of the most widely read Israeli daily newspapers .
The first issue appeared on February 15, 1948. The newspaper was founded by the journalist Ezriel Carlebach from Leipzig . He was the newspaper's editor-in-chief until his death in 1956.
Today the Nimrodi family has a controlling interest and Yaakov Nimrodi acts as its chairman. The editor-in-chief of Maariw is Amnon Dankner .
The newspaper, which is known for emotional headlines on the latest news, sees itself as politically independent and non-partisan, but the comments mostly take a moderately conservative position.
