Tony Imi

Tony Imi (born March 27, 1937 in London - † March 8, 2010 ) was a British cameraman.

Life

Tony Imi started out as a projectionist at the BBC and then worked his way up through assistant roles to become chief cameraman. Some of the first films he directed the camera were directed by Bryan Forbes . Imi worked for the entertainment cinema without any further artistic ambitions. He performed a more demanding task with photography for Wolfgang Petersen's Enemy Mine . Occasionally Imi was also involved in German cinema, b. B. for Aimée and Jaguar . In addition to his numerous films, including for television, Imi was also active for several years as chairman of the British Society of Cinematographers (BSC).
