action
For decades, Lewis & Clark were a successful, albeit eccentric and quarreling comedian couple in hotels and clubs. After the split, Al Lewis spends his time in New Jersey in front of the television and taking Gameboy lessons, while Willie Clark appears in New York with decreasing success in small commercials .
His niece and agent Nancy is given the opportunity to put both of them together in a television production. Only: The two aging divas would have to settle their dispute and work together. Working through the script together turns out to be difficult because of Willie's tendency to change it on his own initiative and his aversion to blows with the finger and the alleged spitting of Al. Likewise the rehearsals in the television studio .
After another argument, Willie collapses , is no longer allowed to work and wants to move to Los Angeles with Nancy . The irony of the story: Al is also drawn there.
criticism
"Enjoyable television remake of a film by Herbert Ross, in which Woody Allen can shine as a supposedly unloved comedian and Peter Falk as a stubborn loner."
