The Xiangxi Autonomous District of the Tujia and Miao Ethnic Groups ( Chinese  湘西 土家族 苗族 自治州 , Pinyin Xiāngxī Tǔjiāzú Miáozú Zìzhìzhōu ) is an autonomous district in the northwest of the central Chinese province of Hunan . Its capital is Jishou .

Administrative structure

Xiangxi is made up of a city and seven counties . These are:

  • Jishou City - ( 吉首 市 , Jíshǒu Shì );
  • Luxi County - ( 泸溪县 , Lúxī Xiàn );
  • Fenghuang County - ( 凤凰县 , Fènghuáng Xiàn );
  • Huayuan County - ( 花垣 县 , Huāyuán Xiàn );
  • County Baojing - ( 保靖县 , Bǎojìng Xiàn );
  • County Guzhang - ( 古丈县 , Gǔzhàng Xiàn );
  • District Yongshun - ( 永顺县 , Yǒngshùn Xiàn );
  • Longshan County - ( 龙山 县 , Lóngshān Xiàn ).
