economy

Gannan is one of the traditional yak holding areas. Mainly Gannan yaks are kept in the region , which distinguish themselves from other geographic yak races by their good fertility, their high live weight and their usability as pack animals, riding animals and draft animals. The uses of meat and wool are also significant. The calves of the Gannan yaks are heavier than those of other geographic yak breeds in China.
