Qianxinan

Location of Qianxinan in Guizhou

The Qianxinan Autonomous District of Bouyei and Miao ( 黔西南布依族苗族自治州 , Qiánxīnán Bùyīzú Miáozú zìzhìzhōu ) is located in the southwest of the Chinese province of Guizhou . Qianxinan has an area of 16,804 km² and approx. 3,059,400 inhabitants (end of 2003).

Administrative structure

At the county level, Qianxinan consists of two independent cities and six counties. These are:

Xingyi City (兴义市), 2911 km², 730,000 inhabitants, district capital, traffic, administrative and commercial center of Qianxinan;
City of Xingren (兴仁市), 1785 km², 460,000 inhabitants;
Pu'an County (普安县), 1,429 km², 290,000 inhabitants, main town: Panshui municipality (盘水镇);

District Qinglong (晴隆县), km² in 1327, 270,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Liancheng (莲城镇);

Zhenfeng district (贞丰县), 1512 km², 350,000 inhabitants, capital: Mingu municipality (珉谷镇);

Wangmo district (望谟县), 3006 km², 280,000 inhabitants, main town: Fuxing municipality (复兴镇);

Ceheng district (册亨县), 2597 km², 220,000 inhabitants, main town: Zhelou municipality (者楼镇);

Circle Anlong (安龙县), km² in 2238, 430,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Xin'an (新安镇).

Note: The "Li" in Guizhou are obviously not the Li nationality of the island province of Hainan . Time and again, some groups in Guizhou, whose self-designation is apparently "Li", but whose nationality has not (yet) been officially "recognized", succeed in the censuses (1982, 1990, 2000) in the category "Lizu" (Li Nationality). This leads to the erroneous impression that it is Li from Hainan Island.
