The Autonomous District Chuxiong the Yi ( Chinese  楚雄彝族自治州 , Pinyin Chǔxióng Yizu Zìzhìzhōu ) is located in the north-central Chinese province of Yunnan . Its capital is Chuxiong (楚雄 市). Chuxiong has an area of ​​29,258 km². At the 2010 census, Chuxiong had 2,684,169 inhabitants (population density: 91.74 inh. / Km²).

Administrative structure

The autonomous district is made up of a district-free city and nine districts. These are:

  • Chuxiong City (楚雄 市), 4,482 km², 490,000 inhabitants;
  • Shuangbai County (双柏 县), 4045 km², 150,000 inhabitants, capital: Tuodian Municipality (妥 甸 镇);
  • Mouding district (牟定 县), 1,494 km², 200,000 inhabitants, main town: Gonghe community (共和 镇);
  • Nanhua County (南华 县), 2343 km², 230,000 inhabitants, capital: Longchuan Township (龙川 镇);
  • Circle Yao'an (姚安县) square kilometers in 1803, 200,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Dongchuan (栋川镇);
  • Dayao County (大姚县), 4146 km², 280,000 inhabitants, capital: Jinbi Municipality (金碧 镇);
  • Yongren district (永仁县), 2189 km², 100,000 inhabitants, capital: Yongding municipality (永定 镇);
  • Yuanmou district (元谋 县), 2803 km², 210,000 inhabitants, capital: Yuanma municipality (元 马镇);
  • Wuding district (武 定 县), 3322 km², 260,000 inhabitants, main town: Shishan municipality (狮山 镇);
  • Lufeng district (禄丰县), 3631 km², 420,000 inhabitants, main town: Jinshan municipality (金山 镇).
