Chuxiong (city)

The city of Chuxiong ( 楚雄 市 , Chǔxióng Shì ) is an independent city that belongs to the administrative area of ​​the Chuxiong Autonomous District of the Yi in the north-central part of the Chinese province of Yunnan . It has an area of ​​4,482 km² and has 490,000 inhabitants (2004). Its main town is the large community of Lucheng ( 鹿 城镇 ).
