Lufeng (Chuxiong)
Lufeng County ( Chinese 禄丰县 , Pinyin Lùfēng Xiàn ) is a district of the Chuxiong Autonomous District of the Yi in the Chinese province of Yunnan . It has an area of 3,631 km² and has 420,000 inhabitants. Its main town is Jinshan (金山 镇).
The archaeological site of lufengpithecus - Fossils ( 腊玛古猿化石地点 , Lama Guyuan Huashi Didian ) of Shihuiba石灰坝is on the list of since 1988 monuments of the People's Republic of China (3-181) .
Many dinosaur fossils discovered in Lufeng since the 1930s are on display in the Lufeng Dinosaur Museum. The genus Lufengosaurus is named after the place.
