Longnan ( Chinese  陇南 市 , Pinyin Lǒngnán Shì ) is a district-free city in the southeast of the northwest Chinese province of Gansu . It borders on the provinces of Sichuan and Shaanxi . The administrative area of ​​Longnans has an area of ​​27,923 km² and around 2.60 million inhabitants (end of 2016). 136,468 people live in the actual urban settlement area of ​​Longnan (2010 census).

Earthquake May 12, 2008

The 2008 Sichuan earthquake caused great damage in Longnan. Over 240,000 residential units had been rebuilt by 2011, some of which were completely new settlements.

Administrative structure

At the district level, Longnan is made up of a city ​​district and eight districts. These are:

  • Li County (礼县), 4,299 km², 510,000 inhabitants, main town: Chengguan Municipality (城关 镇);
  • Circle Liangdang (两当县), km² 1374, 50,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Chengguan (城关镇);
  • Hui County (徽县), 2,722 km², 210,000 inhabitants, main town: Chengguan Municipality (城关 镇).
