Zhangjiajie

Zhangjiajie ( Chinese  张家界 市 , Pinyin Zhāngjiājiè Shì ) is a district-free city in the northwest of the Chinese province of Hunan . Zhangjiajie's previous name was Dayong 大 庸 市.

Administrative structure

The district-free city of Zhangjiajie is composed of two districts and two counties. These are:

  • Yongding District - 永定区Yǒngdìng Qū  ;
  • Wulingyuan Municipality - 武陵源 区Wǔlíngyuán Qū  ;
  • Cili County - 慈利 县Cílì Xiàn  ;
  • Circle Sangzhi -桑植县Sangzhi Xiàn .

tourism

The Wulingyuan Scenic Area, which has been protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, is a popular holiday area. On August 20, 2016, a skywalk-style glass bridge was built over a canyon in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park .
