Huaihua ( Chinese  怀化 市 , Pinyin Huáihuà Shì ) is a district-free city . Your administrative area has an area of ​​27,564 km² and approx. 4.86 million inhabitants (2004). Huaihua is located in the south-central province of Hunan of PRC . Huaihua is bordered by Guizhou Province to the west, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region to the south , and the cities of Changde, Loudi, Shaoyang, Yiyang, Zhangjiajie and the Xiangxi Autonomous District in Hunan .

  • Mayang Autonomous County of the Miao (麻阳 苗族 自治县), 1,561 km², 360,000 inhabitants, main town: Gaocun municipality (高 村镇);
  • Xinhuang Autonomous County the Dong (新晃 侗族 自治县), 1,511 km², 250,000 inhabitants, capital: Xinhuang Township (新晃 镇);
  • Zhijiang Autonomous County der Dong (芷江 侗族 自治县), 2,096 km², 360,000 inhabitants, capital: Zhijiang Municipality (芷江 镇);
  • Jingzhou Autonomous County of Miao and Dong (靖州 苗族 侗族 自治县), 2,211 km², 260,000 inhabitants, capital: Quyang Municipality (渠 阳镇);
  • Tongdao Autonomous County of the Dong (通道 侗族 自治县), 2,225 km², 220,000 inhabitants, main town: Shuangjiang Municipality (双 江镇);
  • City Hongjiang (洪江市), km² 2279, 500,000 inhabitants.

Huaihua is the starting point of the new Huaihua – Hengyang line , suitable for mixed traffic , which was opened at the end of 2018 and allows traffic with freight trains up to 880 m long and weighing 4000  t . In passenger traffic , it can be driven on at a top speed of 200 km / h .
