Huaihua – Hengyang railway line

The railway Huaihua Hengyang is a new line in the province of Hunan in the People's Republic of China .

history

The construction time was four and a half years. Scheduled traffic began on December 26, 2018.

Technical parameters

The route is designed for mixed traffic, 318 km long and runs between the cities of Huaihua and Hengyang . It has six train stations . The route has 41 tunnels and 243 bridges or elevated sections. 57% of the route consists of engineering structures . The longest tunnel is more than 17 km long. The distance between the track axes is 4.40 m, the minimum curve radius 2800 m and the maximum gradient only 13 ‰.

The route is designed for a top speed of 200 km / h , but this is to be increased to 250 km / h in the future. In freight traffic , trains up to 880 m long and weighing 4000  t are to run.

The cost of construction was 32.4 billion renminbi (4.2 billion euros ).
