William McNamara

William West McNamara (born March 31, 1965 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American actor .

Life

William McNamara's father was a racing driver for the Ford Motor Company , and his mother was an interior designer . William McNamara studied at Columbia University and also studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute .

McNamara made his debut opposite James Earl Jones in the television movie Soldier Boys . In the drama Katie's Desire (1988) he played the role of the young Billy Wyatt , who falls in love with the older Katie Chandler ( Jodie Foster ). In the comedy Chasers (1994), marine Eddie Devane, played by McNamara, falls in love with the imprisoned Toni Johnson ( Erika Eleniak ). McNamara played one of the leading roles alongside Erika Eleniak in the comedy Escape in a Red Cadillac (1995). In the thriller Copykill he played the serial killer Peter Foley , who threatens the psychologist Helen Hudson ( Sigourney Weaver ) and is finally shot by the policewoman MJ Monahan ( Holly Hunter ). In the thriller Hate (1997) he appeared on the side of Donald Sutherland .
