Children of the Corn III (Video Title: Children of the Corn III - The Chicago Massacre) is an American horror film from the year 1995 and the second sequel of the horror film Children of the Corn led from the year 1984. Directed by James DR Hickox and written by Dode B. Levenson on motives of the short story children of the corn (children of the corn) by Stephen King .

Very close stepbrothers Eli and Joshua Porter grow up in a provincial town in Nebraska . As Joshua is regularly beaten up by his father, an alcoholic, Eli kills him, making the two brothers orphans. They are then adopted by a childless couple living in Chicago . Eli grows corn in the garden and hates his adoptive parents, with whom Joshua tries to communicate.

Eli gathers supporters at school with whom he works to fight pollution and kill some adults, including his new adoptive parents. Joshua finally finds a way to defeat the devil that possesses Eli.

Reviews

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was "a new addition to the horror film series that combines the unpleasant set pieces of the genre with current environmental fears". "The story of tormented nature" is "stale and has gotten too bland even for convinced fans".

Cinema magazine wrote that the film was "more exciting than its two cinema predecessors".

The film was shot in Los Angeles in December 1993 . It was shown at the American Film Market festival in Los Angeles February – March 1995 and then released direct to video. Charlize Theron made her debut in this film in a small, uncredited supporting role. The film was unindexed in January 2017. A re-examination by the FSK resulted in an approval from 16 years for the unabridged version.
