Marsha Mason

Marsha Mason (born April 3, 1942 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American actress .

Mason starred in television series such as Dark Shadows , Where the Heart Is, and Young Dr. in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Kildare . Later, she played in the film curfew (1973) next James Caan , for this role she was nominated for the film award Oscar nomination and won the Golden Globe Award . In the film Der Untermieter (1977) based on a screenplay by Neil Simon , she played alongside Richard Dreyfuss ; she won the Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Oscar and a BAFTA Award . Neil Simon also wrote the script for The Second Chapter (1979), for which Mason was repeatedly nominated for Oscar and Golden Globe awards. Another Oscar nomination brought her role in the film Mrs. Hines & Daughter (1981), for which Neil Simon wrote the script again. She was also in several episodes of the television series Frasier to see, for which she was nominated for an Emmy Award in 1997.

Since August 2005, she appears in the Broadway issued the play Steel Magnolias on.

Mason lives in Abiquiu, New Mexico , where she grows medicinal herbs in her spare time . She was married to fellow actor Gary Campbell from 1965 to 1970 and to Neil Simon from 1973 to 1983.
