Evan A. Lottman

Evan A. Lottman (born March 20, 1931 in Bronx , New York City , † September 25, 2001 in Manhattan , New York City) was an American film editor .

Life

After Lottman graduated from Kenyon College in Ohio in English , he did his military service in the United States Army as a cameraman. He then studied at the USC Film School and began his career as an editor on television, where he edited documentaries. Lottman made his debut as a feature film editor in 1970 with the film drama Puzzle of a Downfall Child and the crime comedy The Man from ORGY . As early as 1973 he was able to receive the most prestigious award of his career with an Oscar nomination for the best cut . Until his retirement in 1994, he was still editing films such as Sophie's Decision , For Lack of Evidence and The Reporter .

On September 25, 2001, Evan A. Lottman died of esophageal cancer after a long illness .
