action

Ambitious intern Paul Tracy desperately wants to impress Senator Kitteredge, which is why he accepts his request to take his daughter Robin to an institution discreetly to avoid some problems for him. He and his best friend TS pick them up the next morning. She is being treated rudely and is visibly under medication. When she comes to during the journey, she takes the first opportunity to escape. After she is recaptured, Paul reproaches her for humiliating such a great man as her father. At the next stop at a gas station, however, she tries to escape again. She runs to the trucker Clarence, asks for a ride and claims to be a rape victim. But again Paul and TS catch up with them and finally have to flee from the angry Clarence who wanted to protect Robin.

During the subsequent night, Robin is handcuffed to the bed as a precaution. But late at night she manages to persuade Paul to go swimming with her naked in the lake. They both get closer and Robin says that she really only wanted to flee to see her mother Blanche. Although Paul is touched by the story and admits he wants to help, he says that he cannot. Therefore it is easier for her to handcuff him to the pier and to flee. Thanks to a letter, Paul and TS know where Blanche lives, so they are hitchhiked by Stu. Unfortunately, he robs both of them. But that doesn't prevent both of them from showing up at Blanche's later together with Robin and his companion Missy. Blanche herself feels honored that her daughter is visiting, but she doesn't want Robin to live with her, so Robin dejectedly complies with her father's request and lets himself be admitted to the institution.

Paul reluctantly delivers her and is surprised to find her father, who is already waiting on site, who beats his daughter. That's enough for Paul not only to lose respect for Senator Kitteredge, but also to plan together with TS and Missy how to get Robin out of the asylum as quickly as possible. With the help of a bought old ambulance and a fake drug overdose, they want to free Robin. But the plan is thwarted by the senator. Only the surprising Blanche can successfully save her daughter by explaining to her ex-husband that she will blackmail him with spicy details if he wants to do her again.
