Elizabeth Ward Gracen (* 3. April 1961 in Ozark , Arkansas as Elizabeth Ward ) is an American actress and Miss America .

Life

Elizabeth Ward was born in 1961 and later changed her surname to Gracen for her career. She started her career as a model and participated in various Miss elections. In 1982 she won the Miss Arkansas election. In the same year she was also named Miss America . She had achieved a certain level of awareness through winning beauty contests and wanted to build an acting career with it. Her Playboy appearance (in 1992 - revealing recordings of her were published in the May 1998 issue of German Playboy) and her affair with the later US President Bill Clinton also fall during this time . The relationship became known in the context of the Lewinsky affair .

She made her debut as an actress in the film Three on the Highway - Three for the Road . This was followed by the vampire film Sundown and the television film Death of the Eerie Hulk . During this time she starred in a number of low budget films including B. Approved to kill . She celebrated her greatest success with the role of 1000-year-old Amanda in the series Highlander . In 1998 the spin-off series Raven started with Elizabeth Gracen in the lead role. The series was discontinued after a season due to a lack of ratings.

Gracen was married to Jon Birmingham from 1982 to 1984 and to actor Brendan Hughes from 1989 to 1994 . In 1992 she married Adam Murphy, with whom she had their first child in 2005.
