occupation

Made of Steel is a 1992 American film directed by Larry Ferguson .

action

It portrays the undertakings of the undercover policeman Daniel Saxon. His role is the embodiment of a Highway Patrol officer who is released from the police force after assaulting a colleague. He is recruited by a member of the public prosecutor's office to be smuggled in as an undercover agent in an undercover operation against illegal activities such as drug and arms trafficking by some rocker gangs.

This campaign is a complete success, but at Saxon the lines between the reality of his job and the excessive life in a biker gang are slowly blurring. In the film, the conflict between his law-abidingness and the budding friendship with the criminal leader of the gang, Blood, is illustrated. Daniel must first find himself before he will be able to reveal his true identity to Blood.

backgrounds

The film is based on the true story of undercover agent Dan Black, who smuggled into a motorcycle gang in 1975 and risked his life. He helped arrest around 200 members of the gang, all but one of whom were convicted. He played as an extra when filming Made of Steel.

There are two different versions of the film. The cinema version is a little shorter than the TV version with 108 minutes.

In December 2014, the film was re-examined by the FSK and then reduced from the age rating of 18 to 16 years.

Reviews

  • “Screenplay ace Larry Ferguson (The Hunt for Red October ) modeled his directorial debut based on a true story . The result was a biker movie that convinces with dramaturgical strength, where the similar type of Stone Cold turned to an over-the-top violent comic. "(Blickpunkt: Film)
  • “A well constructed, tough action film that reflects a person's inner conflict; excellently played and well photographed. "(Lexicon of international film)
