Serial Killer (Original Title: Postmortem ) is an American thriller from 1998 . Directed by Albert Pyun and written by John Lowry Lamb and Robert McDonnell .

action

The American policeman James McGregor has numerous successful searches, but his marriage is in crisis. He has a drinking problem. McGregor travels to Scotland to relax. He publishes a book about the manhunt for serial killers , which is successful.

One day McGregor receives a fax from an unknown sender that mentions a woman. The next day, this woman's body is found in McGregor's garden. McGregor himself is first suspected; later he helps the investigators who are looking for the killer. Murders are announced in further faxes that will be carried out afterwards. One of the policemen suggests publicly warning the victims. However, his colleagues object that the announcements are too imprecise for that. Meanwhile, for image reasons, the police chief prohibits McGregor from participating in the investigation.

Reviews

Jack Sommersby wrote on eFilmCritic.com that the portrayal of Charlie Sheen and the script were secondary. The "tight" but directed by Albert Pyun care for a scary atmosphere.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film showed no “interest in the inner workings of its characters” , which is why “the staging is geared towards surface stimuli” and “some effectively composed images cannot deny their self-purposeful character” . The main actor acts "too listless" .

backgrounds

The film was shot in Glasgow . It was released direct to video in the United States, Italy and a few other countries.
