Ray Evans
Raymond Bernard Evans (born February 4, 1915 in Salamanca , New York , † February 15, 2007 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American songwriter .
Together with his partner Jay Livingston , he wrote numerous songs for films in the 1950s, including Whatever Will Be, Will Be , which was best known as Que Sera, Sera . Also for the television series Bonanza and Mr. Ed , the duo wrote the theme songs .

Livingston and Evans have been over the years
- 1946 for The Cat and the Canary ,
- 1958 for the ballad Tammy ,
- 1959 for Almost in Your Arms , and
- 1965 for Dear Heart
Nominated for an Oscar in the “Best Song” category. They won this award three times:
- 1949 for the song Buttons and Bows from the film His Angel with the Two Pistols ;
- 1951 for the song Mona Lisa from the film Captain Carey, USA and
- 1956 for the song Que Sera, Sera from the film The Man Who Knew Too Much .
The song Mona Lisa also won the ASCAP Award for Most Performed Feature Film Standard on TV in 1987 , while the songs Silver Bells from The Lemon Drop Kid (1951) and Que Sera Sera won the ASCAP Award for Most Performed Feature in 1990 Film standard .
The duo was born in 1958 for their work on the musical Oh, Captain! also nominated for a Tony Award .
