Career start year

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The career entry year (BEJ) is a type of school in Baden-Württemberg that serves as an alternative to the vocational preparation year school type and was introduced as mandatory for the 2007/2008 school year. The qualification in the career entry year is above the level of the secondary school qualification .

The career entry year is set up for young people who have completed their secondary school leaving certificate but have not yet found a training position or are attending a secondary school. It is intended to deepen the young people's training maturity in theory and practice. The pupils have to decide on a professional field (depending on what the school offers). Requirements for admission in the career entry year are a secondary school diploma and an internship for the entire school year at a company.
