Jay Sean (* 26. March 1981 in London as Kamaljit Singh Jhooti ) is a British R & B - and pop - singer . His parents came to England from India in the late 1970s . Jay Sean is a Sikh religion .

biography

Kamaljit Singh Jhooti was born in Southall , London , and grew up in the Hounslow district . At the age of 14, he began rapping in a rap group called Compulsive Disorder , which later caught the attention of local radio stations. The only obstacle for Jay Sean was the greater attention paid to his nationality rather than his music. Growing up in a country with diverse cultural influences such as the United Kingdom , he was influenced by his black, white, and Asian friends. He attended the QMW medical school in London, but left it after two years, in 2003, to follow his love, music. He began to work with the South Asian music producer Rishi Rich and the Punjabi singer Juggy D and with DJ Chahal. In 2004 Jay Sean produced his first album Me Against Myself and had great chart success with it. He became known for hits like Dance with You , Eyes on You and Stolen . He is working on the follow-up to his album Me Against Myself, produced with Rishi Rich

Jay Sean released his new album My Own Way (originally called Deal with It ) in 2008. Since 2009 he has been signed to Birdman's and Lil Wayne 's Cash Money Records label . In November 2009 he released his album All or Nothing .
