Egotronic is a Berlin electro- punk band that combines electronic sounds with rough spoken vocals.
history
After several self- published projects, Egotronic came to the Hamburg label Audiolith Records in 2005 , where their single No No / Luxus was released. In 2005 a tour through Russia followed with the artist Plemo . In 2006 the Hamburg label Audiolith released the album The Right Setting . In 2007 the band's second album Lustprinzip was released . In April 2008 work began on the band's third album, which was released on November 14, 2008 under the name Egotronic . The fourth album called Ausflug mit Freunde was released on April 30, 2010. Egotronic wrote the soundtrack for the film Gegengerade , which was released on Audiolith Records with songs by Slime and Pöbel & Gesocks , among others . In October 2011, the fifth album was released with the name Macht no noise .
style
Egotronic stylistically combines the attitude and socially critical demands of punk with elements of electro or synthpop . Other well-known bands from this area are Saalschutz , Das Bierbeben , Knarf Rellöm or Räuberhöhle. A special feature of Egotronic is the use of C64 and Game Boy sounds, which are produced by Egotronic on the PC. For example, sounds are built in that are borrowed from classic computer games; The graphics in the music videos are also reminiscent of old computer games or are taken directly from them. Content and activities
Egotronic participates in the I Can't Relax initiative in Germany . Political stance is also often taken in the lyrics of the band, for example on the debates about dominant culture , Jürgen Möllemann and anti-Semitism as well as with the song Not Only Raver on the riots in Rostock-Lichtenhagen and the violent clashes in Mügeln in 2007 .
