Rocko Schamoni (2003)

Rocko Schamoni's music style, which in the early phase includes elements of punk rock , rock music and jazz , was often referred to as German post-punk .

In 1981 and 1982 Rocko Schamoni was a member of the fun punk band Warhead , which later renamed itself to Public Enemy No. 7 , then to Die Götter . When he moved from Lütjenburg in Schleswig-Holstein to Hamburg, his style changed, and appearances as a provocative Schlager entertainer took him on extensive tours through Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the Golden Lemons and the Toten Hosen . Besides Schorsch Kamerun and DJ Cumpadre ES , Rocko Schamoni was a member of the band Connection Point , which made electronic music. Also with Cameroon and the musicians Ale Sexfeind , Jonas Landerschier, Sergeant Eierknaake and the bass player Pipiplatsch ("the walking Bananumberto") Schamoni had the band Motion, which in 1993 released a record on the Zickzack label. Title "Ex Leben (Land, Sea)".

At his shows he was supported first by Jogging Mystique and later by Little Machine as a live band. Since then, the sound of Schamoni and his band has been similar to the soul sound of an Al Green and uses brass and string sections. The compositions are partly by Carsten Meyer .

In addition to his musician career, Rocko Schamoni gives guest appearances in film, radio and television, for example with Heinz Strunk and Jacques Palminger at the psychedelic humor association Studio Braun . After the death of Norbert Karl (2004) Schamoni took over the club. In the meantime, Schamoni has withdrawn from the daily events of the club that burned down and largely destroyed in February 2016.

Shit by Schamoni

On November 29, 2012, Rocko Schamoni and the Hamburg goldsmith Jonathan Johnson published the satire jewelry collection "Shit by Schamoni". Rocko Schamoni on this:

“As a person and artist, I have been dealing intensively with the subject of shit for years, but I just lacked the brilliant idea to give this fascinating subject a high-quality and glamorous setting. It was only the idea and the basic design of the 'Original Shit Chain' by photographer Dorle Bahlburg, as well as the collaboration with goldsmith Jonathan Johnson, that led to the decisive step in the direction of the collection. Now, in times of crisis, to make shit out of gold and thus to reverse the conventional production cycle is not only an artistic, but also a political statement. We are also looking forward to soon being able to come up with the same content in the field of patisserie and the world of perfume. "
