Staatsakt is a German music label that has its headquarters in the Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg .
history
The music label was founded in 2003 by Gunther Osburg and Maurice Summen . Originally it was only supposed to be used for the publication of her own band Die Doors , but it quickly expanded its scope. Gunther Osburg left the label in early 2009 to devote himself to other tasks; henceforth the label was run by Maurice Summen alone. In just a few years it has developed into one of the busiest and most experimental independent music labels in the Federal Republic of Germany . Currently counting - in addition to the house and court band Die Doors and their incarnation Der Mann - artists such as Bonaparte , Ja, Panik , Andreas Dorau , Jens Friebe , Mediengruppe Telekommander , Die Sterne , Jacques Palminger , Viktor Marek , Erobique , Christiane Rösinger , Chuckamuck , Locas in Love , Isolation Berlin , Stephan Sulke , Albrecht Schrader , Der Ringer , International Music or Driver & Driver ( Chris Imler & Patric Catani ) to the label family.
In July 2011, Staatsakt and the Hamburg label Audiolith announced the merger of the two labels. Initially, only individual releases were to appear on the joint Audioakt label and both labels were to continue to exist in parallel. So far, only the album The Elite of Charity by the Telekommander media group has been released on Audioakt.
With releases by Bonaparte, Ja, Panik, Dieter Meier, Die Sterne, Isolation Berlin, Andreas Dorau, Christiane Rösinger or Locas In Love, Staatsakt was able to place some of its releases in the German, Austrian and / or Swiss album charts.
In January 2017, Maurice Summen brought two colleagues into the company, which now operates as a GmbH. Sebastian Pobot (through its holding company), Markus Göres (Rewika Promotion) and Maurice Summen are now shareholders of the newly founded Staatsakt Rec. GmbH . The latter remains the sole managing director of the company. Markus Göres, who also works for Mute, Grönland Records and other labels, continues to act as head of PR at Staatsakt, and Sebastian Pobot, who also took over the radio play publisher Maritim (label) , is responsible for sales and controlling.
Since June 1, 2019, Staatsakt has been distributed digitally by Zebralution and physically by Bertus.
