Nobuyuki Zaizen ( Japanese 財 前 宣 之 , Zaizen Nobuyuki ; born October 19, 1976 in Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese football player . Since the 2010 season he has played for Muang Thong United in the Thai Premier League . Nobuyuki Zaizen is the younger brother of Keiichi Zaizen .
Career
In his youth, Zaizen played for Yomiuri FC, the predecessor of today's Tokyo Verdy club. He was trained there until 1994. From 1992 to 1994 he also attended Tokyo Industrial High School . In 1995 he joined Verdy Kawasaki's professional squad, where he was under contract until 1998. In the meantime he was loaned to CD Logroñés in Spain . The club was playing in the second Spanish division at this time . However, a serious injury prevented his use and he returned to Japan. In 1999 he was under contract with HNK Rijeka for a short time . However, he could not prevail at any of his clubs and remained without commitment.
His career really got going when he switched to Vegalta Sendai . On August 7, 1999, he made his debut for Vegalta. It was the first of a total of 154 league appearances for the club. In 2001 he was promoted to the J. League Division 1 with the club . He played with Vegalta for two years in the first division before relegation to division two took place in 2003. For the 2005 season he moved to league rivals Montedio Yamagata , with whom he also managed to move up to the J. League Division 1 in 2008. In 2009 he played 11 games for Montedio there. At the end of the 2009 season, his contract expired and was not renewed. Muangthong United of Thailand, champions of the 2009 season , took the opportunity to sign Zaizen in December 2009. He made his debut for the club during the Super Cup that month. Since the 2000 season he has almost always been wearing the jersey with the number 10. If the number is already taken, he chooses 28 (2 + 8).
He never played for the men's national team of Japan , but was part of the U-17 squad at the U-17 World Cup in 1993 . There he played four games of the tournament. In the quarterfinals of the tournament he lost with the team against Nigeria and was eliminated.
