International Music is a German indie rock band from Essen .
history
The band was founded in 2015 in Essen by singer and guitarist Peter Rubel, bassist Pedro Goncalves Crescenti and drummer Joel Roters. International Music has been performing publicly since 2016 and released the EP Mein Schweiss in the same year . The album The Best Years followed in 2018 .
The Musikexpress described the style of International Music as follows:
"It hits ... The Jesus And Mary Chain on Can on FSK , over all of which hovers in some songs a very elusive, almost shanty- like melancholy."
The radio station ByteFM describes the album as "a dense network of lacony, melancholy, psychedelia and post-punk, in which the listener is only too happy to get caught."
In the annual charts of the best albums of 2018 Music Express has The Best Years of International Music the first place. In 2018 International Music won the PopNRW award in the Best Newcomer category . At ByteFM, the listeners of the station The best years voted best album 2018, in the most played albums it came in 6th place.
Peter Rubel and Pedro Goncalves Crescenti have another band with The Düsseldorf Düsterboys , whose debut "Nenn mich Musik" was released in autumn 2019.
