Live and act

Henrik Peschel has been working in the film business since the early 1990s. He learned filmmaking himself. He started out with music videos for Tocotronic and Frank Black of the Pixies . With his short films Rollo Aller! He shot on Super-8 in the early 1990s . and Rollo Aller! 2 by two likeable losers who want to escape society, Peschel achieved cult status in Hamburg. Musician, author and entertainer Rocko Schamoni plays one of the leading roles.

In the beginning he often shot with a small team and took on many functions himself. As in Klaus Lemke's films , in which he directed the camera in two productions, amateur actors often appeared in Peschel's films , it is shot at original locations and also spontaneously and improvised . His actor ensemble initially consisted partly of musicians from the Hamburg music scene and the so-called Hamburg School . The other part is made up of renowned German theater , film and television actors such as Adam Bousdoukos , Timo Jacobs , Klaus Dittmann and Uli Pleßmann .

With the production of Si-o-se Pol - The Last Days of Parvis K. a change in Peschel's way of working took place. He won Kristian Leschner as cameraman, who directed the camera in the series Der Tatortreiniger , which was awarded the Grimme Prize in 2012 and 2013 . He cast all roles with professional actors such as Ramin Yazdani, Pheline Roggan , Christian Concilio , and the Goya prize- winner Abdelatif Hwidar. With the story of a Persian refugee who entered Spain illegally, filmed at the original location, he takes up a current topic in Si-o-se Pol that is resonating worldwide.

His work was u. a. awarded the Montblanc Script Award at the Hamburg Film Festival . The documentary Punk im Dschungel (camera by Henrik Peschel) was nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize in 2008 in the "Information & Culture" category.
