action

The terminally ill Parvis Karimpour wants to make up with his daughter Nasrin, his only child. He is fleeing Iran and traveling illegally with a group of refugees on a rubber dinghy from Algeria to Spain. Once there, he makes his way to Madrid, where he suspects his daughter.

He finds refuge in the metropolis, which has been badly hit by an economic crisis. On the search for Nasrin he meets the Italian Fabrizio, a failed pianist who now earns his living as a cleaner, and the aimless German Almut, who is toying with the idea of opening a jewelry shop.

In search of the lost daughter, the three find a common task. Parvis draws hope again. With his optimism he pulls Fabrizio and Almut out of their lethargy. Following a new clue, the trio set off north in Almut's car.
