Protection of the Constitution Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania
The state authority for the protection of the constitution in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the state authority for the protection of the constitution in the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and one of 19 intelligence services in Germany. Legal basis
The general legal basis for the protection of the constitution is the Basic Law and the Federal Constitutional Protection Act . The special legal basis is the State Constitutional Protection Act of July 11, 2001.
tasks
The Constitutional Protection of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern has the task of proper and personal data, including information, news and documents to collect and evaluate over

Another task is to inform the public and the responsible bodies about dangers to the free democratic basic order and the existence and security of the federal and state governments, in particular through reports on the protection of the constitution . The Office for the Protection of the Constitution participates in security checks , background checks and technical security measures to protect facts, objects or findings that are in the public interest of confidentiality from being discovered by unauthorized persons.
Powers
The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Constitutional Protection is allowed to use intelligence services for covert information gathering, in particular for covert collection of personal data, which are finally listed in § 10 of the State Protection of the Constitution Act. These include the use of undercover agents , covert staff , surveillance , monitoring of radio traffic , use of legends , and Tarnpapieren -flag , monitoring of mail, post and telecommunications by Article 10 Act and the covert monitoring of the Internet . The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania constitutional protection is subject to various controls. Controversy
A thank you note in 2002 in the neo-Nazi postil “The White Wolf” to the NSU was not given great importance by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution. However, the Office for the Protection of the Constitution claims that there was no reference or reference to the NSU in the postil and that the NSU was unknown to the Office for the Protection of the Constitution until November 2011.
In its report for 2011, the constitution protection MV is no longer allowed to name several left-wing institutions. He had taken the report off the network in the meantime, as several legal disputes were pending. It was later republished, with some parts blackened out about left-wing groups and institutions - but incomplete.
