University of Malaga

The University of Málaga ( Spanish : Universidad de Málaga ; Latin: Universitas Malacitana ) is a state university in Málaga ( Andalusia ) with around 40,000 students and 1,300 academic employees.

The University of Malaga was founded on a municipal initiative in 1968 and opened on August 18, 1972. The university is divided into an economics and medicine faculty and also conducts research together with the Andalusia Technology Park. The campus (including administration) is located in the north-west of the city (Campus Teatinos), another location is El Ejido, other buildings from individual faculties are individually distributed throughout the city.

The rector of the university is D. José Ángel Narváez Bueno.

Since 2014, the Teatinos campus has been connected to the city center by a line from the new Málaga Metro .
