The University of CEU Cardinal Herrera CEU-UCH (Span: Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera ) is a private university under Roman Catholic sponsorship based in Moncada , Valencia Province , Spain . It emerged from the merger of the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 1970. However, the university was only given its current name in 1999.
history
In 1999 the Cardinal Herrera University was founded with state recognition. The university offers Bachelor, Master and PhD degrees in education and training on campuses Moncada , Elche and Campus Castellón .
Others
The university belongs to the network of Fundación CEU San Pablo , a foundation for non-profit educational institutions. The foundation was established in 1933 by the Jesuit Ángel Ayala Alarco . The foundation association includes more than 25 schools that offer more than 190 educational programs, from elementary school to university as well as advanced training in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Murcia, Alicante, Vigo, Jerez, Elche, Seville and Valladolid.
In 2013, representatives of the Karolinska Institute in Sweden visited the university to establish an agreement for academic collaboration and student exchange in the degrees of science of health. The delegation consisted of the international relations coordinator Malin Ahlen, the international coordinator of dentistry studies Stein Björkman, the clinical supervisor Lars-Erik Lindgren and the technical assistant Kerstin Marklund and was appointed by the dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences Alicia Lopez, the coordinator of dentistry Arlinda Luzi and the Erasmus coordinator Chirag Sheth. The Karolinska Institute offers courses in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing and physiotherapy, which are also part of the academic offerings of the University of CEU Cardinal Herrera.
The university has three campuses in Moncada , Elche and Castellón . Over 7,000 students from all over Spain study at the university . Most of them come from Valencia , Murcia , Mallorca , Ibiza and Albacete . In addition, the number of international students in the Erasmus program is growing steadily.
In May 2013 Rosa Visiedo Claverol, Rector of the University, signed the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Scientific Knowledge .
The university is a participant in the Solar Decathlon Europe 2012 .
