Storm in the Head is a German crime film by Christian von Castelberg from 2015. It is the 349th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 and is set in Rostock . The main guest stars of this episode are Christian Friedel , Hilmar Eichhorn , Ole Schloßhauer , Pheline Roggan , Marie Leuenberger and Hansjürgen Hürrig in the role of LKA officer Paul Weigert.

Chief Inspector Alexander Bukow ( Charly Hübner ) and LKA officer Katrin König ( Anneke Kim Sarnau ) are investigating their eleventh joint case.

action

The body of Achim Hiller, who was the head of the company "Hilgro Wind AG", which has created numerous jobs in the region, is discovered on a former shipyard site in Rostock. He was killed by several bullets, but still has all his valuables with him - robbery is out of the question. During the first investigations by the Katrin König and Alexander Bukow team , a confused man is picked up in downtown Rostock who is certain that he has committed a murder. He is then taken to a clinic and the police notified. Bukow and König quickly find out that the patient's name is Max Schwarz and that he works as a system administrator at Hilgro-Werke . He himself cannot remember anything specific, so the investigators are dependent on further investigations. The treating doctor assumes that a traumatic event is the trigger for his amnesia .

Katrin König is made aware by a journalist that in the last week three national daily newspapers had been sent emails stating that they had information about the Hilgro works. König suspects that Black is the sender, as the way in which the messages were sent suggests great expertise. Schwarz could have obtained sensitive data from the company through his work and blackmailed Hiller with it. König knows that Hiller came into the focus of tax investigations in 2007 after his construction holding company was accused of subsidy and tax fraud amounting to millions. The investigation was discontinued at the time, however, as the evidence was insufficient. This assumption is reinforced when the car is found by Schwarz. There was evidence that there was a large amount of cash there, but Schwarz left it in the car when he wandered into town on foot. Bukow finds evidence of an affair between Hiller and Nina Schwarz. That would explain why Max Schwarz was not satisfied with the money, but instead eliminated his rival straight away. That he had booked a flight to Costa Rica , as further investigations have shown, would fit well into the picture.

While the investigators are trying to get closer to the truth bit by bit, the LKA and State Secretary Carola Willkotte are also interested in the case. Paul Weigert, a former supervisor of König, wants to take over the case and tries to put Bukow's supervisor under pressure. As a result, König finally commented fully on the incidents at that time, because in 2007 she had to do with the investigation into Hiller. After long efforts, she had the main witness so far that she wanted to testify against Hiller. Mysteriously, she was run over by an unknown shortly afterwards. The woman's daughter was also killed and the driver of the death allegedly could not be identified. These incidents still weigh on König today, which is why she fights doggedly to find a solution in the Hiller murder case.

Anton Pöschel has since found out that Hiller's secretary had picked up six million euros from the bank, but only two were found in Schwarz's pocket. So a robbery would come into consideration, since there were obviously accomplices of the blackmail.

To get Max Schwarz out of his amnesia, König wants to try a reconstruction of the fact. The two investigators drive to the crime scene with Schwarz, but do not notice that they are being watched. Meanwhile, Schwarz remembers some music that he wants to have heard; while he was humming it to the investigators, he was fatally hit by a bullet. Bukow and König pursue the shooter, but cannot catch him alive, so they do not learn anything about possible clients. For them, it turns out that Hiller's bodyguard, Max Brock, followed the transfer of money to Schwarz and brutally shot his boss. He gave the shocked black one of the three wallets in the hope that it would be mistaken for the perpetrator. Little did he know that Schwarz was so traumatized by the incident that he lost his memory, but it was very convenient for him.

König assumes that the blackmail must have been known to several employees in the company. She remains interested in solving the 2007 case as well, which is in some ways related to the current one. Through luck and the gift of combination, König was able to get hold of the files in Schwarz 'computer that concern the Hilgro works. This reveals that these are not the old allegations, but a current planning error that would make the company's latest projects so expensive that it would inevitably have gone bankrupt. The managing director Sebastian Lehm knew about it. However, since a state guarantee would take effect with a little delay, he was also very interested in ensuring that nothing of this problem was made public beforehand. The attempt to convict those responsible and thus also to solve the case of 2007 fails because of the political entanglements and involvement of Paul Weigert from the LKA. However, Bukow and König plan to pass the information on to the press.

Production, background

The film was shot from April 15, 2014 to May 19, 2014 in Hamburg and Rostock. In the meantime, the NDR report 7 days ... on the film set , documenting the filming as an example of what happened "behind the camera" in a film production.

Bukow's family problems remain an issue in this episode as well. Vivian Bukow is ready to talk to her husband, but this again fails because of Alexander Bukow's professional commitment.

criticism

“And so each of the famous characters drags their personal parcel from case to case. In addition to the Dortmund 'Tatort' around pill eater Faber, the Rostock 'police call ' around grain drinker Bukow is the crime thriller with the most authoritative horizontal narrative - in which you can effortlessly re-enter the story and remember the past even after six or nine months. "

“Rostock is currently delivering the best police call cases and 'Storm in the Head' also starts with a lot of boom . [...] What the Dortmund Tatort successfully demonstrates also works in the police call from Rostock - namely to build up the characters over several episodes, to develop them and thus maintain the tension. Serial storytelling based on the American and British model. "
