7 days is a documentary series by NDR . It has been in production since 2012 and has been broadcast regularly since May 5, 2013.

In the 7 days series , the reporters accompany people in special professions, in social groups or in unusual places. You participate in the lives of these people for seven days. They receive impressions and information through their own observations and interviews. The reports should also serve to break down prejudices: “We often meet people who we can quickly get an idea of - perhaps prematurely. But what life is actually hidden behind these people? ”Individual episodes dealt with Muslims , Jews , people in need of care and right-wing extremists , among other things .
background
Each episode is produced by two employees. A reporter is accompanied by a video journalist with a camera. From the material that they record in a week, they create what is usually around 30 minutes long. The reporter comments on the images as a voiceover and gives the viewer an insight into his thoughts and the questions that occupied him during the shoot. Responsible is the “Die Box” editorial team at NDR, which develops new formats for documentaries.
The 7 days format was developed in 2012. The first episode was broadcast on May 5, 2013 and dealt with the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp . This episode was shown in a new version on January 28, 2015, in which music can be heard instead of the usual commentary.
The first broadcast of each episode takes place on Sundays at 3:30 p.m. on NDR. Repetitions run on other channels of the ARD , u. a. at Einsfestival .

Awards
The episode 7 Days… Among the Dead was awarded the Bremen TV Prize in 2012 in the “Innovation” category. Christian von Brockhausen and Lars Kaufmann received the award.
