Bremen TV Prize (trophy of the annual award)

The Bremen Television Prize is an award for outstanding achievements, contributions, programs and innovations from German-language regional television programs . The television prize is awarded annually by Radio Bremen in several categories.

The prize was awarded for the first time in 1974 as a “competition for regional television programs”. In the years from 1998 to 2007 and 2009 there was no award ceremony. The prize has been awarded annually since 2010, now with the participation of ARD and under the name of the Bremen TV Prize - ARD's regional competition .

Until 2008, the prize was awarded in three categories, and since then in four to six annually varying categories. The total funding is between 3000 and 6000 EUR. In addition, undoped “Honorable Acknowledgments” are given for individual contributions or entire programs.

Participation takes place via the submission of programs and individual contributions from broadcasters and state broadcasters from German-speaking countries ( Germany , Austria and Switzerland ). In addition to the award ceremony, Radio Bremen organizes a so-called “workshop talk”, a specialist event on media-related topics.

The jury consists of a chairman and three to five jurors, who are appointed by Radio Bremen.

2019

For the Bremen TV Prize 2019, a preliminary jury selected a total of 24 nominations from 126 entries and programs in six categories. These all came from public broadcasters, contributions from private broadcasters were not represented. The award ceremony took place on November 8, 2019 at Radio Bremen. The supporting program included the workshop discussion “New trends in the regional program”, which was held for the first time this year in cooperation with the ARD.ZDF media academy .
