Claus Grobecker
Claus Grobecker (born April 5, 1935 in Bremen ; † February 6, 2018 in Bremen) was a German politician ( SPD ). From April to October 1982 he was Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Minister for Youth, Family and Health .
biography
education and profession
Grobecker was born and raised in Bremen- Gröpelingen . He learned the trade of a printer. He was a member of the Printing and Paper Industry Union . He became chairman of the IG Druck und Papier in Bremen.
politics
Grobecker had been a member of the SPD since the 1950s . As a trade unionist, he had influence in the SPD from an early age, which nominated him for the sixth electoral term (1969–1972) for the Bundestag constituency of Bremen-West in fourth place. "He stood for an SPD of the old type, (where) doer-types carved out of hard wood set the tone, sometimes on the verge of self-importance". Mayor Carsten Sieling (SPD) formulated 2018; "He argued with an open eye for his social democratic convictions."
For many years he lived in a new building in the Schnoor district of Bremen, where he met with SPD politicians in the Kaiser Friedrich bar.
Member of the Bundestag
On January 8, 1970, Grobecker entered the German Bundestag via the Bremen state list as a replacement for the resigned MP Hans Stefan Seifriz . In the following federal elections in 1972 , 1976 , 1980 and 1983 , he won the direct mandate in the Bremen-West constituency . On November 14, 1983, he resigned because of his entry as a senator in the Bremen state government .
In the Bundestag he was chairman of the budget committee from November 25, 1981 to May 12, 1982 . He belonged to the circle of friends of the SPD parliamentary group leader Herbert Wehner .
Parliamentary State Secretary
On April 28, 1982, on the occasion of a cabinet reshuffle, Grobecker was appointed Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Youth, Family and Health by Chancellor Helmut Schmidt . He left this office with the election of Helmut Kohl as Federal Chancellor on October 4, 1982.

In the Bremen state government, Grobecker was Senator for Labor in Senate Koschnick V from 1983 to 1985, succeeding Karl Willms (SPD). In this office he was followed by Eva-Maria Lemke (SPD).
From 1985 to 1991 he was the Senator for Finance in the Senate Wedemeier I and Senate Wedemeier II as the successor to Moritz Thape (SPD). In this office he was succeeded by Volker Kröning (SPD). His greatest political merit is the billions in redevelopment aid that he fought for before the Federal Constitutional Court for Bremen, which was already clammy at the time.
